"Let your past make you better, not bitter."
I read this quote today and thought about how nicely it summed up my entire week. I have been taking a lot more time for self care. With that I have been cleaning out old thoughts, thinking about my past, and letting go of old hopes and dreams that didn't pan out. I think that moving forward it's a good idea to think about these things as lessons for what you do and don't want in your future.
What were your hopes and dreams? Why didn't they come to fruition? What part did you play in it not being the success you wanted? What could you have done differently? How would you like to see it go differently in the future?
These are all very important questions to ask yourself and also journal about so that you can look back on it later. The things, people, and actions that happen in the past don't have to be mistakes or regrets. They can be positive lessons. To show you how to move forward. And when you do that it's a more enlightened state of being.
Let yourself think about the past, process, let go, and move forward.
Let me know if you try this out with any aspects in your life!
