We all have those days every once in a while, where it just feels like everything is working against us. Either you wake up on the wrong side of the bed, or you
just cant seem to kick that not-so-great mood you were in the night before.
What do you do when you wake up in a funky mood and you’ve got a pile of laundry to do, a couple of little hungry mouths to fill, and a to-do list that seems to be running on and on?
Part of Self-care, which extends beyond the luxurious bath bombs and the days of non-stop pampering, includes being able to know how to get out of a spirit crushing bad mood so that you can be productive for the remainder of your day.
As women, entrepreneurs, moms, business moguls, etc, its important to have a hold on our emotions. The demands of the day are too pivotal and crucial for us to allow ourselves to remain stuck in our feelings and in turn become unproductive.
The key to turning any bad day around is Positivity. This word is so important, and although it is thrown around loosely, it really is a pivotal tool to keep in ones’ arsenal when it comes to overcoming the “bad, slumpy” days. Positivity is not only the essence of ones’ being, it is also the conscious choice to remain happy; eve if it means finding a glimmer of good in an all-bad situation.
Waking up on the wrong side of the bed may be a common thing for most of us, but maintaining an attitude which says, “hey, I woke up on the wrong side of the bed today” is something that is within your control.
Instead of seeing all that can be, and is in fact going wrong in your day, it is more beneficial and productive to focus on what has gone great the day before and to even emulate that same essence of positivity in the current day. As a popular saying goes, “I think, therefore I am.” This saying can also be applied to turn a negative day around because dwelling in the negativity of a moment will only keep you stuck in that moment for the reset of the day; leading to a rather wasted and unproductive day.
When you make the conscious decision to take in positivity and reject negativity, your surroundings have no choice but to be consumed by negativity. There’s no better prescription for an unproductive day, turned productive, than a positive mood and a joyful spirit.
